William Williams letter, 1781 July 10, to Wales & Elderkin.

Williams informs Wales & Elderkin that they are to deliver fourteen pounds of gun powder from their store to Peter Webb of Windham, Connecticut, by order of the Governor and Council of Safety. The powder was the property of the state and not of Wales & Elderkin. Docketed on verso with Jedediah Elderkin's statement that the powder was delivered, dated 1781 August 24.

William Williams (April 8, 1731 – August 2, 1811) was an American Founding Father, merchant, a delegate for Connecticut to the Continental Congress in 1776, and a signatory to the United States Declaration of Independence.
